Store Policies

In-Store Pickup

In-store pickup is free for all items, including bikes. Most orders will be ready within one business day. Please keep in mind that some items may require additional processing time to transfer from off-site locations. Other items may require additional processing time for assembly. We will call or email you once your order is ready for pickup. 

If you need an item right away, please call us to confirm that the product is available before heading over to our store. Unless special arrangements are made in advance, orders need to be picked up within 10 business days. 

Information Security

We protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts all of the information you provide to us and prevents outside parties from being able to "see" your transaction information. When your account information is displayed on your screen, we only display the last five digits of your credit card numbers. You also have the choice of whether or not to save credit card information with us in your Online Account.

We sometimes use other companies (third-party service providers) to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include fulfilling orders and delivering packages. They need access to some personal information in order to perform their duties but may not use this information for other purposes.

Returns/Exchanges

We value our customers and their satisfaction with our products and services. We stand behind our products and service work. We endeavor to stock quality products from reputable vendors, with reputable warranties and guarantees. If there is a problem with a product or service, please contact us immediately or return the product to the shop. The following outlines our guidelines for considering a return for a full refund, store credit or exchange.

Bicycles

Bicycles that are special ordered are not eligible for return and/or exchange.

Bicycles bought “On Sale” or through special promotions are also not eligible for return or exchange.

Bicycles purchased from the shop’s inventory can be returned for a full refund, store credit or exchange subject to the following strict store policies:

  1. We will consider such a return within 7 business days from the date of purchase.
  2. The bicycles must be in “new” condition. This means it cannot have any damage to its paint, frame, wheels, tires, and components.
  3. If the bicycle has been altered in any way or had accessories installed will void its eligibility to be returned.
  4. If the bicycle in question is an e-bike, the battery system will need to be fully analyzed and assessed before a return can be considered.
  5. Subject to inspection, Island Bicycles reserves the right and has the final say on whether the bicycle qualifies to be returned.

Please note that an inspection of said bicycle could take up to 1 business day to complete and the shop will need to be in possession of the bicycle being returned.

Accessories and Parts

Special order accessories and/or parts are not eligible for return and/or exchange.

Products marked as “clearance” or “final” are also not eligible for return and/or exchange.

Products for human consumption such as energy and hydration products cannot be returned due to safety reasons once the product leaves the store.

Clothing and shoes that have been worn cannot be returned.

Accessories that were installed and used cannot be returned.

Accessories and/or parts can be returned for a full refund up to 30 days from the original date of purchase. Please present your original receipt with the product being returned. The product must be in its original condition/packaging to be considered eligible. If you are uncertain a product will work, please retain all original packaging, manuals, and instructions. Incomplete packaging, manuals and instructions will make the product ineligible to be returned.

Up to 90 days from the point of purchase, accessories and/or parts can be returned for exchange or store credit. The same original receipt and original condition as above applies.

After 90 days, we unfortunately cannot accept returns.

Island Bicycles, in its sole discretion, can deny any return for any reason.

Prices and Information

Our website is intended to help you. We make every effort to maintain current, accurate prices in our online catalog. And we strive for similar accuracy and timeliness with the other information we offer here. However, inventory or pricing errors may occur, and we reserve the right to decline or cancel any orders where mistakes or discrepancies in price or stock status exist regardless of the source of the error. We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience such mistakes may create. Please bring any errors you find to our attention on your next visit or by calling or emailing us. Repairs, Warranties and Authorized Light Maintenance

Repairs

We warrant and stand behind our service. We do not refund our labor charges. At the time of receipt, service bikes costs will be estimated and discussed with the customer. Estimates are estimates and work can become more in depth and costly to the customer. We can set limits and will call to discuss work beyond limits set. Bikes that are in poor condition, have been stored in a manner that has allowed them to rust, corrode or deteriorate MAY NOT be serviceable. We recommend all bikes for service be bought to the store to be inspected and estimated.

Upon completion of service, customers will be notified their bicycle is completed and ready for pickup. As a courtesy, we will hold the bike for 10 business days before additional storage charges will apply unless arrangements are made in advance.

If the customer is not satisfied with the service on their bicycle, please contact the shop or return the bicycle and we will endeavor to correct the issue. We cannot be held responsible for bicycles serviced by Island Bicycles and then taken to other repair shops. Repairs or alterations to repairs cannot be guaranteed or resolved.

Island Bicycles reserves the right to deny repairs on any bike we do not think we can reasonably repair at a reasonable price.

We are authorized to service and repair TREK and ELECTRA e-bikes as well as bikes equipped with BOSCH, Hyena Gen2 or Shimano Steps e-assist motors. WE DO NOT repair all e-bike brands for safety reasons. Please contact your e-bike’s manufacturer for their list of authorized service centers.

Warranties

We will gladly process all warranties if a warranty exists within the time frame presented for repair. If a warranty does not exist, the customer will be responsible for all repairs, labor, and parts.

Authorized Light Maintenance

Island Bicycles offers, as an added value to our customers, Authorized Light Maintenance on all bicycles purchased from Island Bicycles whether from store inventory or special order. Authorized Light Maintenance is for the “original” owner’s benefit only and does not transfer to a future owner. It is for the lifetime of the bicycle. The bicycle is subject to inspection and approval prior to being accepted for maintenance. Bicycles must be in serviceable condition and cannot be rusted or seized. A bicycle in such condition is not considered light maintenance. Authorized Light Maintenance does not cover parts and labor to install said parts. Authorized Light Maintenance does not cover accessories or owner installed after-market parts on the bicycle. Authorized Light Maintenance does not cover bicycle cleaning or drivetrain cleanings. We will, however, run through the bicycle and review its safety and satisfactory operation. We will adjust braking, shifting and minor wheel truing as needed. We will lubricate the chain.

We can deny Authorized Light Maintenance at our sole discretion.
